Privacy Policy

Privacy is your right and our duty. We respect your concern for privacy, and we follow this privacy policy. Don’t worry, we’re on your side!

Disclaimer

The National Partnership for Women & Families Web site(s) provides access to other World Wide Web sites. However, this access does not necessarily imply endorsement or approval of the products or information offered at those Web sites.

Collecting Data

Personal Information

The only time the National Partnership's website collects information that personally identifies a visitor or allows us to contact a visitor, is when a visitor has voluntarily provided the information to us. Personal information is generally requested and provided when: a person voluntarily registers for an email newsletter or similar publication; fills out a form asking for information or assistance; chooses to use our web site "Take Action" section and communicate with government officials; or chooses to become a National Partnership member using our online form.

Credit Card Information

In the National Partnership's "Join/Donate" section, we offer two ways to join our organization: by credit card through our secure online server or by printing and filling out the Join/Renew/Donate form and sending it in with a check or personal credit card billing information via the United States postal service. If a visitor chooses to use the online credit card system, the credit card information that is collected is only used to bill the user for her/his membership.

If a person chooses not to provide any personal information in the designated areas, a visitor can still use most of the Web site.

We do not sell any personal information we gather to a third party.

Anonymous Information

The National Partnership's website gathers broad anonymous information for usage reports we use to highlight the effectiveness of the National Partnership's site to interested parties. These reports are shared internally and externally. The anonymous information allows us to make our site more useful to our visitors. For example, we can diagnose technical problems, learn about the number of people coming to our site, the types of technology they use and what pages people view most. This helps us improve your experience on our Web site.

"Get Involved" Section: Corresponding with Congress

The National Partnership's "Get Involved" section allows users to contact their legislators. To use this feature, a person is required to give her/his name, address, and email address. We ask for these details because members of Congress will not accept emails as valid without this information. This information is used for the express purpose of facilitating communication between our visitors and their elected officials. If you choose to disclose your personal information to a public official, you may expect the public official to respond to you directly about your concerns.
